Q:
Do we ship out of province?
A:
Due to provincial legislation, we are prohibited to ship out of province. Only way is if you have a friend or relative who can pick up at the store for you, and they independently make arrangements to ship it to you. deVine can package wine for travel within Alberta, but the onus is on you to make all courier arrangements - you assume all responsibility of theft, breakage, freezing, heat damage etc once the product leaves our premises.
Q:
Can I have my private event at deVine?
A:
Yes, we do host private events. Our space is available on Thursdays and Saturdays from about 7 until 9pm, unless there is a store tasting already scheduled. We are able to create a custom wine tasting around your preferences, where you and your guests will be guided through 7 wines throughout the course of the evening, in a casual and comfortable setting. A minimum of 18 guests is required and costs starts at $35/person and up depending on the wine theme. Please contact us for more information.
Q:
Does deVine deliver?
A:
Yes, we do deliveries once a week on Thursdays. Delivery charges will vary depending on distance from our downtown store. If you send us an address we can provide you with a quote. Note: We prefer to have all deliveries arranged and paid for 24 hours in advance.
Q:
The wine I want isn't available at deVine. Can you bring it in for me?
A:
Possibly! The first thing we need to do is check if it is available to order from the AGLC warehouse, the only legally approved source of product for liquor retailers in Alberta. You can check yourself by entering the name in Liquor Connect. If the product is part of our core selection, we will order it in for you and you can buy however many bottles you wish. If it is not part of our core selection, we ask you purchase the entire case (this varies depending on the case configuration, usually in sixes or twelves).
Q:
Your listed prices, does it include GST?
A:
Yes, our prices are inclusive of GST, no surprise additional charges at the till.
Q:
Is there a discount if I buy in bulk?
A:
We offer a case discount when you purchase 12 or more bottles of wine or spirits. If you are paying with cash or debit card, we offer 8% off the total. If you are paying with credit card, we offer 6% off the total. Note: there is no discount on beer, non-alcoholic, or accessories and discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
Q:
Are you able to make gift baskets?
A:
Yes, we can make gift baskets. We have an assortment of baskets in all shapes and sizes, and are happy to wrap it up for you. Note: we can only include items that we sell in store. Gift bags, gift boxes and gift cards are also available. Do give notice so we can have everything ready for you in a timely manner.

What about corporate accounts?
A:
Yes, we provided wine, beer and spirits to numerous companies in the downtown core. Please call the store and we would be happy to assist.
Q:
Do you help with wine and food pairings?
A:
Yes indeed, this is one of our specialties, if you send us your menu, and desired pricing, and number of bottles required, we would be glad to send you recommendations for wine pairings. Please do give notice so we can have the quantities of the wines available for your event.
Q:
If I buy a product and if it is faulty (corked, oxidized, leaking), can I return it to deVine Wines. Is there a time limit on when I can bring this faulty product back?
A:
Yes, we will sampled the wine to confirm fault, whereupon you can take a replacement or another bottle. We will require some contact information as the AGLC does check with the public occasionally about returns. AGLC rules allows for one year maximum from time of purchase to claim faulty product. Note also, we expect the bottle to be more than 2/3 full on return (cannot consume most of the bottle and claim it is faulty).
Q:
Do you provide consultation services for customers who are looking to build a wine cellar or stock a home bar? Is there a cost for these services?
A:
Yes, we do this frequently. We will sit down with you to discover what types of wines you like, the price point you want to spend and long and short term buying strategies. We provide this service free of charge but we appreciate your business.
Q:
Can deVine Wines assist in helping me plan my trip to a wine region?
A:
Given enough notice, and if we have connections to the desired wine region, we can definitely help arrange winery visits and arrange stays (where applicable). This is an on a "best-effort" basis, and really depends on the region and the availability of the people at said wineries. No guarantees, but we try our best for you.
Q:
If the product I purchased is not to my taste, can I bring this opened product back for a refund or exchange?
A:
Unfortunately, if there is no evident fault with the wine, we cannot take an opened product back because it wasn't to your taste. Please consult our staff if you are uncertain about the characteristics of a particular wine before purchasing.
